Corporate Contributions Guidelines
EPI considers donation proposals that promote an ethic of active and productive citizenship within the following areas of community development:
Education
Programs that promote technology, math, and science.
Community Livability
Programs that support human services and promote multicultural awareness and diversity.
Environmental Preservation
Programs designed to promote conservation, reduce environmental hazards and waste, and encourage community volunteerism.
Priority is given to employee requests and proposals that would benefit Washington County residents.
Giving Programs
EPI accepts requests for financial and in-kind support only from non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that are located in Oregon*.
EPI's Contributions Committee reviews and makes recommendations on all requests for charitable donations regularly.
One For Our Community Printer Donations
EPI is helping Oregon's non-profit groups add a touch of color to their work through its printer donation program.
The company's goal is to donate several printers per year to area non-profits. To date, EPI has donated hundreds of printers to various institutions and agencies in the Portland metro area.
Organizations that receive gift printers through this program may reapply once every two years.
Monetary Donations
EPI considers requests for financial support that meet our eligibility criteria.
What Is Not Supported: EPI strives to fund programs that maximize corporate donations in an equitable fashion. Therefore, the Contributions Committee generally does not approve donations to political, fraternal, or strictly religious organizations; endowment or capital campaigns; individuals, auctions, travel, research studies, athletics/band/drama; proposals to purchase tickets, or requests from national organizations. Because we run a United Way campaign each year, the Contributions Committee does not consider requests from agencies funded by the United Way.
How To Submit A Request: Requests for contributions must be submitted in the form of a written proposal and must include:
- The organization's mission statement and a brief description of its purpose and activities
- The specific funding or donation requested
- What the donation will be used for
- The contact person's name and phone number
- A copy of the IRS letter designating the organization as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
